Educational Projects
The Bury Transport Museum, in association with The East Lancashire Railway, offers three education experiences for schools...
- The "Evacuee Experience" is designed for Key Stage 2 History and is intended to support National Curriculum History Unit 9 by providing an opportunity for children to experience and empathise with evacuation, Civil Defence and rationing, at £8.00 per pupil with free travel for accompanying staff.
- The "Geography Rail" trail is a field course aimed at Key Stages 3 to 4 pupils, using the railway as access to examine geographical features (both physical and human) in the Upper Irwell Valley, at £8.00 per pupil with free travel for accompanying staff.
- "Bury Town Trail", a walking tour investigating how Bury has changed since Victorian times, at £3 per pupil.
